Global Talent Visa UK — Endorsement Guide & Document Checklist 2026
The UK Global Talent visa is designed for leaders and exceptional talent in digital technology, science, engineering, humanities, and the arts. There is no job offer required, no salary threshold, and no employer sponsor — just an endorsement from one of five approved bodies and evidence that you are at (or have the potential to reach) the top of your field.
Do I qualify for the Global Talent visa?
Endorsement from an approved endorsing body
You must be endorsed by one of the five approved bodies: Tech Nation (digital technology), the Royal Society or Royal Academy of Engineering or British Academy (sciences and humanities), or Arts Council England (arts and culture). Each body has its own criteria for "leader" or "promise" (emerging talent).
Leader or exceptional promise in your field
"Leader" means you are already a recognised leader at the top of your field. "Promise" (exceptional promise) means you have the potential to be a leader in the future. Promise applicants are typically earlier in their careers.
No minimum salary or employer sponsor required
Unlike the Skilled Worker visa, there is no salary threshold and no requirement to have a job offer. You can be self-employed, freelance, or employed by any organisation.
Not a current or previous Global Talent visa holder (Promise route only)
If you previously held a Global Talent visa on the Promise pathway, you must apply on the Leader pathway at renewal — you cannot hold Promise twice.

Required if you are from a listed country and applying from outside the UK.
